Wikipedia Weekly 6 released — without me ;_;

November 20, 2006

So, I’ve been away all this weekend, and in the meantime the sixth episode of Wikipedia Weekly was recorded and released. The episode touches on the recent spike in new users on the Chinese Wikipedia and subsequent re-blocking of the site by the government, better searching, wiki markup parsing, Wikimedia board and executive level decisions, bylaws, committees, trademark, and fundraising.

This was quite an important step for us, since this is the first edition without the five-person limitation. In fact, we were able to take it as high as seven in the episode, and could have gone as high as nine or ten if the Australians in our number had been around for the recording. Woo!

Another post later about my weekend, but it was extremely cool. Among the highlights: a wonderful new Tissot watch, and a black 30GB iPod from my brother and father. :)
